Legoland California breaks ground on Legoland Castle Hotel

Edited: January 21, 2017, 12:12 PM

(Sorry I missed this one last week, due to a rain postponement and a schedule conflict.) Legoland California has started construction on its second on-site hotel, the Legoland Castle Hotel.

"This hotel will have 250 premium themed rooms, including 20 suites, completely immersing guests into a castle experience from the minute they enter the grand hall, to dining in an amazing sit down royal restaurant to engaging in courtyard entertainment by the pool," Legoland California General Manager Peter Ronchetti said.

The room themes will be knights, princesses and wizards. From the park's press release:

In the Knight rooms, guests are surrounded by dragons and knights as they prepare to go into battle to defend the king’s castle and protect the king’s treasure. In the Princess rooms, woodland animals such as butterflies, squirrels, owls and song birds all made of LEGO, of course, are found. In the Wizard rooms, guests discover how magic is used to protect the king’s treasure with the use of giggling potions and spells.

The new Legoland Castle Hotel is scheduled to open next spring.

Odd to see them break ground right at the entrance. Does the hotel shift the entry gates? The castle hotel is far away from the medieval section of the park.

I hope the first hotel will be priced cheaper and more available. Often hard to get a room and quite expensive.
