Does anybody know if there is going to be a freefall track element (ala Verbolten) on HP and the Escape from Gringotts?

Nope. There's a simulated freefall, but your vehicle remains on-track.

I think it is brilliant to put a motion based "car" on a coaster track. The forward motion doesn't have to be simulated and judging from Spidey and Transformers, a drop can be very convincing.
