What is Anna and Elsa's Appeal?

Ok, I will start by saying that I come from a family of all boys so visiting princesses was never our thing. However, as a sincerely honest question: What is the appeal of Anna and Elsa? I mean, I understand that it is a hit movie and these princesses are pretty good role models, but I never remember people completely losing their "stuff" over Belle or Tiana, two princesses who I feel are also pretty strong female role models.

I honestly want to know! The whole thing doesn't seem to make sense to me. Maybe its my age or bias, but I feel that Belle is a much more interesting character.

One word: sisters. I can't think of any other movie that promotes sisterly bond as much as this one. Not to mention that parents probably appreciate the message that true love can be found in families, not princes. Therefore, while all girls may like Anna and Elsa, it's the families with (at least) two daughters that are the ones eating up this movie.
