Questions about Be Our Guest Restaurant and New Fast Pass Reservations

Published: February 6, 2014 at 7:16 AM I will be going on a Disney vacation starting March 2nd through the 12th and would like to know a few things. I will be staying on site at Port Orleans Resort for the whole vacation. I was able to get the Dining Plan included and have booked all my dining reservations. I started booking the dining reservations a month and a half to two months ago and I was not able to get a reservation at Be Our Guest Restaurant.
Is the Be Our Guest Restaurant able to be reserved with the Dining Plan? Or was it already booked? Also, I was wondering if they do or don't accept walk-ins at the restaurant? Time does't really matter (Lunch or Dinner). I'll be at the Magic Kingdom at least 2 or 3 days.
Does anyone have any information about these issues???
Thanks for the help!

From Robert Niles on February 6, 2014 at 12:00 PMBe Our Guest is walk-in only at lunch. And although the restaurant accepts reservations at dinner, try again two days in advance, when people have to cancel to avoid getting charged for the reservation. If you don't get there for lunch, do try checking to see if you can either get a reservation for dinner the day of your visit, or can wait on a stand-by basis that evening. People have been getting in those ways.
From Tony Duda on February 6, 2014 at 3:31 PMThe Fast Pass for BOG is only for lunch and only if arranged through their own web site (that I don't know the name of, I've never done it). It is kind of miss-leading, it is not a FP+ the same as for attractions. You pre-order and pre-pay for the FP lunch, show up at the proper time and walk in. I don't know if it is in the dining plan.
From Anthony Murphy on March 8, 2014 at 5:35 PMI was thinking on making this its own discussion, but I am getting this information a bit second-hand. My parents just came back from Disney World and they did the Be Our Guest Fastpass.
First, it is still in its very early testing phase. I think my parents were able to do it because they were annual passholders, but I am not sure. They just randomly got an email because Disney knew they were down there. They made a decision to alter their schedule and try it.
This is all done through the magic band and you pick your food even before you enter into the castle. You do it all online and (theoretically), the Magic Band stores it. When they came to their time (which was roughly 30 minutes), they scanned their magic band and it worked! They went and sat down and the GPS directed the cast members to their magic band.
It worked perfectly for them, but they told me that there were lots of people having problems with it! They had to reenter in their whole order.
My parents said the food was expensive, but good and large portions!
