Finally, something fresh from Walt Disney Imagineering

January 30, 2006, 9:42 PM · TPI's Joe Lane has posted his review of the new Expedition Everest roller coaster at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

"Everest's ride is smooth--probably too smooth for avid coaster riders, but the thrill level should be acceptable for all ages....

"My favorite part of the ride has to be the Yeti itself. The encounter happens so fast, with our train quickly ducking under his massive hand. Here the Imagineers employed a clever design element--to show the Yeti long enough to know what's happening, yet short enough to entice the guest to ride again."

After so many dupes of existing Disney attractions from other theme parks, it is refreshing to see Walt Disney Imagineering debuting an original work once again. The sharp detail and family-friendliness of the ride combine the latest effort from Disney an apparent winner.
