Blaze at Alton Towers theme park shutters Skyride
2007-10-29
By Neil Preece:
A fire struck one of the Skyride stations during Scarefest at Alton Towers last night, forcing an evacuation of one section of the park. The BBC reported that about 50 firefighters were called to the scene. The fire destroyed part of the station's roof, though no one was injured. The park was to open as scheduled today, though the Forbidden Valley was to be a delayed opening. The Skyride will remain closed for the rest of the season.
