Knievel at Kings Island: Part TwoIt's like the 1970s all over again at Kings Island.First, the park switches The Racer back around. Now, a Knievel's gonna do a motorcycle jump. (What's next, a Brady Bunch reunion at the park?) On May 24, at 7 pm, Robbie Knievel, son of the late Evel Knievel, will attempt to jump 24 soft-drink trucks at the Cincinnati-area park. Evel's jump of 14 buses at Kings Island in 1975 set a TV-sports ratings record: Here's the press release about Robbie upcoming jump, from the park. Admission to the jump is included in the day's park admission. Haven't heard if there will be TV.

I was just at SFStL yesterday. They didn't build it on any previous parking area from what I saw and remember from my last trip. I agree the parking could use a re-paving, but it is far from falling apart. From Derek Potter on April 28, 2008 at 4:05 PM
The Evel Knievel stunt was big stuff at Kings Island back in the day. I don't suspect that this one will be the huge event that Evel's jump was, but cool nonetheless. Maybe I'll take a trip for that one. From Tombraider Ty on April 30, 2008 at 6:32 PM
About that little "Brady Bunch Reunion" joke, at ACE Winter SOAR 2008, hosted at the Golf Center at Kings Island, Kings Island's spoke-person mentioned 2008 would be the 35th Anniversary of the Brady Bunch's visit. He commented that the park may do something, 'like a reunion', to celebrate. This article has been archived and is no longer accepting comments.

Doesn't this seem like something Six Flags St. Louis should have gone for, since their new wooden coaster, opening later this summer is "Evel Knievel"? (Not that there is anywhere in their falling apart parking lot you'd have room to do that, but still...)
