What's the best thing to eat at a theme park, round 2: Disney World's Hot Dogs vs. Busch's Free Beer?

July 29, 2008, 9:08 AM · Thanks to everyone who voted in the first round of our reader tournament to determine the best thing to eat or drink at a theme park. We're down to the final eight nominees, and the quarterfinal voting begins today.

In our first vote of the second round, the lone remaining non-Disney nominee faces off against a Walt Disney World favorite. It's the free beer offered at the Busch Gardens and SeaWorld theme parks against the hot dog from Casey's Corner in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. Vote below, then tell us about your decision in the comments, please.

In yesterday's final first-round match-up, Disney's Dole Whip sent home the Pot Roast from the 50's Prime Time Cafe at Disney's Hollywood Studios, 69% to 31%.

July 29, 2008 at 10:20 AM · Crap, I can't vote for either as I've never tried DW's Hot Dogs, and as much as I used to love Busch's Free Beer, I don't love beer as much as I used to. I went from going to the beer garden first thing at opening, then once again before they shut down... now I don't even care if it's there. How things change... it's like how I used to think I'd listen to punk rock forever, and never get into "boring" jazz. Or how I said I'd never stop playing videogames everyday... yeah, that went well!

There really is great food at both of these parks but I also realize that this listing is from what people sent in and this is what they must have been sent! Anyway it is a sad round.

July 29, 2008 at 11:06 AM · Yeah, but only in the Busch parks is beer included with the price of admission. Well, not a lot of it, but enough to make it economically defensible to buy a season pass. How, you may ask? Well, I'll tell you. If a 12-oz beer costs, on average, $1.50 (not including beers at Disney parks!), then if one visits the Busch park 35 times in a year, the comparative value of the two free beer samples per day more than covers the cost of the one-park one-year annual! After that, it's free beer AND free rides. Not to mention free parking and food and merchandise discounts. How can anyone who drinks beer and lives close to BGA/BGE NOT get an annual??? Guess which way I voted...

July 29, 2008 at 9:01 PM · Both are excellent together. I actually voted for the free beer, because, well, its free. Its also quite fresh as well!

Oh why does life have to be so complicated ?
