Vote of the week: Which is the best theme park for Christmas events?

November 28, 2008, 11:34 AM · We've been covering a lot of theme park Christmas and holiday celebrations on Theme Park Insider, and will continue to do so over the next few weeks. But I wanted to hear from you about your favorites.

I've picked 10 top theme parks that open for and run winter holiday celebrations. You tell me which one you think is the best, that is, the one you would most want to attend, if you could pick only one.

Why is that your favorite? Tell us you take on theme parks' holiday events, present and past, in the comments.

November 28, 2008 at 11:44 AM · My favorite specific event is the Osborne Dancing Lights at Hollywood Studios, but I voted for Magic Kingdom because unlike every other park that has one or two events, Magic Kingdom has a whole part full of events like the parade, fireworks, castle shows, snow on Main Street, free hot cocoa, lots of special character meet-and-greets, and the beautiful castle lighting....seeing MK all decorated is a sight to behold...the castle lights, the reefs along "the sky" down Main St....Magic Kingdom is the most magical of any theme park, and that magic is even brighter during the holiday season

So MK hands down

November 28, 2008 at 1:27 PM · I love the MK event, but it is a seperately ticketed item (speaking as a Passholder) and I think the spirit of this vote was the overall holiday theming. Epcot has great decorations, Christmas around the world, and a holiday finale to Illuminations that is spectacular! By far the best fireworks on property.

I know that Silver Dollar City is not one of the top 20 parks, but their Christmas event here in the Midwest is worth noting. It is the only seasonal park that you'll find up here open in December. I only wish it got a little more attention.

As far as the major parks go, I can't comment because I have not been to them. But, please don't knock the "little guys".

November 29, 2008 at 8:53 AM · EPCOT gets my vote due to it being a Christmas Double Threat: Holidays around the World and Candlight Processional!
November 30, 2008 at 10:13 AM · I am finding these results very interesting. Whats the deal with Dollywood? Its got a pretty high vote!
November 30, 2008 at 5:02 PM · From Dollywoods website, it looks like they remember the real meaning of Christmas.
November 30, 2008 at 7:34 PM · Gotta give it to Disney's Hollywood Studios for the Osbourne Festival of Lights. Truly great stuff, especially for someone with ADD.
