Discussion and deals round-up

  • The American Idol Experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios is moving into public previews this week. I'm on the west coast, and unable to get to Orlando this week, so I'd love to hear from any Theme Park Insider readers who get in to see the show. I'd also love to hear any information from Orlando about rumors that Disney's got "ringers" ready to go if no one in the crowd can sing worth a lick.

  • Also on the discussion board, but this time for our west coast fans, Joshua Counsil has posted a four-part trip report from a recent Las Vegas excursion:
    Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4.

  • On our tips page, I just posted this one: "Hate seeing people without food hogging tables at counter service eateries? Then do not send someone to save a table until you've ordered your food." You can go to the tips page to vote it up or down.

  • Finally, I get these last-minute Orlando hotel deals from Expedia each week, since we've partnered with them from time to time. This week, they're promoting hotels from $31 a night and flight/two-night-hotel packages from $234 per person. Here's the link if you are interested in checking that out.

Question: Do you edit the tips? I remember seeing one that really didn't make much sense, but it is gone!

    January 14, 2009 at 11:27 PM · Once a tip gets voted below a -5, it's gone.

On the tables, if you send someone as you order, by the time you get the food, they'll have a table. And there'll be fewer unused tables. More efficiency. Sorry, being a math/game theory geek on this one.
