Theme park cast member stories: To all my Brazilian girlfriendsBy Robert Niles
She was part of a Brazilian tour group - you could tell from the gold and green T-shirt that she wore, the same worn by hundreds of other teens in the Magic Kingdom that day. She walked up to me slowly, almost stumbling, glancing nervously back over her shoulder toward her friend with each step. They giggled.Published: September 14, 2009 at 9:33 AM "Picture?" she asked me, holding a camera in her hand. Having done this, oh, about ten thousand times before, I immediately answered "yes" and reached for the camera, figuring I'd be taking a picture of the two teen girls. Not so fast. The second girl sprang forward to snatch the camera, as the first girl turned and pasted herself to my side. Smile, flash, and they were gone. Giggling. The other cast member working that parade crosswalk with me chuckled. "So, what's your girlfriend's name?" "Huh?" "Your new Brazilian girlfriend." "I've never seen her before in my life. I have no idea even what her name is," I replied. The other CM threw back her head and laughed so loudly that some of the folks waiting for that night's Electrical Parade turned to look. "That's not what she's going to tell her friends back home!"

FWIW, I suspect that I have several uh, "girlfriends" of other nationalities, as well. Not just Brazilian. From Anthony Murphy on September 14, 2009 at 10:34 AM

Reminds me of being a Club DJ back in the mid 90's. Good times. Grew up fast ;) From Robert Niles on September 14, 2009 at 2:12 PM
There is a reason why the biggest section in the Magic Kingdom is called "Fantasyland." Because only in the realm of fantasy would any of these "girlfriends" actually be going out with me. There were, though, a few CMs who did manage to cross over to "reality" with guests. More stories, for other days. From 76.116.235.231 on September 14, 2009 at 3:11 PM
That was the worst story ever. How could anyone but you care about that story? From Robert Niles on September 14, 2009 at 3:38 PM
FWIW, the CM who laughed at me then told me that she'd feared for weeks getting her photo taken with guests after another CM told her, soon after she's started at the MK, what the three teen boys who'd just posed with her would likely be telling their friends. The cast members of MK West got around, even without going anywhere! From David Graham on September 14, 2009 at 4:18 PM
Um, Robert, I don't think I would want any of them, as all were minors, they never brought the hot ones back after age 18.... I wanted to move to Brazil after that first summer. lol From 200.179.65.110 on September 14, 2009 at 4:55 PM
Great story. Being a brazillian visitor myself, I regret to say I never took pictures with a cute female cast member to show around here. :) Cheers from Brazil. From Brian Emery on September 14, 2009 at 6:30 PM

Good Story!
I always love your CM Stories.
Anyway, the one thing the Brazillian Groups tend to do lately is to have the leader of their group pump all their tickets in the fastpass distribution, shooting the time up drastically while waiting behind them. Pretty annoying, but perfectly legal.
