Mystery Mine feels more like I imagine going through a gymnastic floor routine would feel than a roller coaster ride. You're flipping, twisting and jumping about, but the experience never really flows. It's one of the few coasters I've ridden that I couldn't anticipate the next move while I was riding for the first time, which is why it's the only coaster I've gotten hurt on in years.
Thunderhead, on the other hand, though it's been duplicated now elsewhere, remains a joy.
On an initial ride, I'd pick Thunderhead by far. But after multiple visits, I suspect that I'd prefer Mystery Mine for its unique experience and narrative. So... this is a toss-up for me.
