March 25, 2010 at 2:09 PM · As much as I enjoy a whimsical ride on Splash Mountain, I can't vote against Spidey! This innovative ride used such ground-breaking technology when it debuted, and it still ceases to amaze! One of the best rides ever in my book!
March 25, 2010 at 2:18 PM · Tough choice to knock Splash Mountain out of the running here... But, Spidey is definitely the superior ride experience.
Plus, quite often in the last few years when I've ridden Splash there have been several non-functional elements.
March 25, 2010 at 2:26 PM · Spiderman is a fantastic ride. Love it. I always vote for it. Living in Orlando I will say that I ride Spiderman much more often than Splash Mountain

But against Splash? Hmmm. I don't like getting wet. But Splash is a real experience vs a simulated one. Immersive sets, animatronics, the randomness of the water, catchy songs, etc.

I voted for Splash.

March 25, 2010 at 2:28 PM · Now this is a battle...tough tough choices..i honestly don't know what to pick..
Spiderman for the ride elements, but Splash for the overall experience: smell, and music play an important part!
March 25, 2010 at 2:37 PM · I sadly can't vote on this round since I've never been on Spider Man. It is too bad such a good ride as Splash Mountain will probably be knocked out this early.
March 25, 2010 at 2:41 PM · Spider man is cool,, But come on Splash Mountain is GREAT!!!
March 25, 2010 at 2:49 PM · As tough a pairing as can be. The greatest flume ride versus the greatest Universal ride. I have to give it to Spidey if only for the fact that it is hard to continually ride Splash over and over.
March 25, 2010 at 2:55 PM · Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man: A decade old and still without peer.
March 25, 2010 at 3:14 PM · If it were not for the fact that there are NO hippos, Spidey is a far more impressive show.
March 25, 2010 at 3:19 PM · This is really close, but im afraid i gotta go with Disney and vote for Splash Mtn. Its the most superior log flume in the entire world and the themeing is great!
March 25, 2010 at 3:27 PM · I voted for Spiderman, but may log off and cancel my vote by giving a nod to Splash.

If I was to rate each of these, I'd give Splash an 8/10 and Spidey a 10/10. And yet... There's something indescribably great about Splash, and something that gives it an appeal I can't resist. To me, Splash is more re-ride-able, but I can't explain why...

...maybe it's that Disney magic.

March 25, 2010 at 3:32 PM · Tough choice, but I voted for Spidey. It debuted 11 years ago, and it's still on the cutting edge. That's really a remarkable achievement.
March 25, 2010 at 3:33 PM · I can't believe it's this close. Sure, Splash Mountain is great, but there's nothing else remotely like Spider-Man out there. Spider-man should be winning by more than 2%.
March 25, 2010 at 4:33 PM · Splash mountain is cool but seriously Spider-Man is the best. Spidey is just awesome and features an overall better experience from the beginnning of the queue to the last scene of the ride. Both are the best of their kind but Spidey is just better.
March 25, 2010 at 4:11 PM · My vote went to splash mountain hands down. I finally got to ride spiderman last year and was so excited because everyone said it was so good but I honestly didnt think it was that great or fun at all :/ Splash mountain is a way better experience in my opinion
March 25, 2010 at 5:16 PM · Seriously? This has to be the lack of Universal attention to this, cause there is no way Splash Mountain. Yes, Splash Mountain is a great flume, but come on. Spider-Man is beyond great.

Honestly, this has me wondering if Spidey will last much past this round even if it wins.

March 25, 2010 at 5:42 PM · I gotta go with my Disney and say Splash Mountain.

Nothing personal Spiderman!

March 25, 2010 at 5:53 PM · Well, considering that I voted against Splash Mountain in the previous round, this one's a no-brainer for me. (I still don't like getting soaked!) Go Spidey! Awesome, fun ride (especially if you sit in the front row and don't have heads in your way)!
March 25, 2010 at 6:20 PM · Five years ago, no question. Spiderman.

I think, though, that people are getting tired of 3D. Yes, Spiderman employs technology that stretches the possibilities of 3D, but virtual reality will never compare to reality.

OK, a bunch of robotic creatures aren't reality, but we can appreciate and visualize a physical being more so than an image.

March 25, 2010 at 6:43 PM · Its a close one!
March 25, 2010 at 8:17 PM · Ouch. It seems I've gone 0-4 for the day. While Spiderman is a great ride, it's heard for me to look past the video screens. I much prefer attractions where the story is told through actual scenery and sets and doesn't rely on video.
March 25, 2010 at 8:35 PM · Strange things could happen!
March 25, 2010 at 9:42 PM · Spider-Man's had close calls before. Last year, it beat Kraken in the third round 53%-47% and Incredible Hulk Coaster 51%-49% before losing to Millennium Force in the final four. And in the 2008 tournament, it faced Pirates of the Caribbean in the final four and won 56%-44%. This year, it'll face Pirates again, in round three.
March 25, 2010 at 10:07 PM · Sorry to see Splash go, but Spidey is too dazzling to take an early bow out of this contest.
March 26, 2010 at 2:53 PM · Can't measure greatness by how technologically advanced it is. Splash Mountain FTW!
March 26, 2010 at 2:54 PM · ... In my book.
