Have you submitted a rating for your favorite theme park hotels?By Robert Niles
We're just a little over a month away from the announcement of the annual Theme Park Insider Awards, which will be revealed on the Fourth of July. Today, I'd like to remind Theme Park Insider readers to submit their ratings and reviews of any on-property theme park hotels they've stayed in during the past year. Published: May 29, 2011 at 9:01 PM Below, I've listed some of the leading contenders for this year's award. If you've stayed in any of these hotels in the past 12 months, please follow the links to submit your rating, from 10 (blissful perfection) to 0 (police were involved at some point during your stay). ![]() Last year's Theme Park Insider Award winner for Best Theme Park Hotel: Disney's Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World When deciding on your rating, please consider the following factors:
If a hotel was the best place you've ever stayed in your life, then go ahead and give it a 10. But if it fell short of perfection in any of these areas, though, including in-park amenities or overall cost - then start knocking it down points. Nines, 8s and 7s are still excellent scores. If you haven't stayed at one of these properties, please do not vote. We're looking for honest, first-person accounts here. That's what helps all of us make informed decisions about where we want to stay on our next theme park vacation. Walt Disney World Resort (all hotels listed alphabetically)
Universal Orlando Resort Disneyland Resort Cedar Point Again, these are the top-rated on-property hotels so far this year, in case you're wondering why other properties are not listed in this post. If you've stayed elsewhere in the past year, please go ahead and follow the links on our hotel listings page and submit a rating for those properties, too. Not everyone stays on a top-of-the-line resort and we need ratings and reviews for other theme park hotels, too. Thanks, as always, because it is your theme park ratings and reviews that make Theme Park Insider a helpful travel planning resource. Of the above, I can only comment on the Wilderness Lodge, which was disappointing - overpriced and unremarkable. My favourite theme park hotel, Saratoga Springs, isn't on the hotel listings page. It's beautiful, comfortable, relatively economical, and convenient. What gives? From Robert Niles on May 30, 2011 at 11:52 AM
Here you go, Joshua. Also, for everyone else, please remember that you can rate any of the hotels listing on our "Hotel Reviews" page (link's at the top of any page, in the gold navigation bar.) The ones I've listed in this post are simply the ones currently near the top for highest average reader ratings. Others could pass them, if enough people rate them up. I would agree with those hotels except for Universal's being top rated just because there are so few (not saying they are bad or anything-in fact, one or two can take the prize this year).
As voting is soon to begin, I believe that the greatest hotels in a resort are the Beach and Yachtt club. It has everything you would want in a Disney resort: top notch food, greatest pool in any Disney resort, character breakfast to rival the parks, closeness to EPCOT, and never forget the Kitchen Sink!
