SeaWorld San Diego's Manta track is complete

March 5, 2012, 2:02 PM · SeaWorld fans are one step closer toward getting to ride Manta in San Diego. The park announced today that it's installed the final section on the launch coaster's 2,835 feet of track.

Next up for Manta is the installation of the glass viewing windows for the accompanying aquarium and the movie screens for the ride's launch tunnel. SeaWorld park president John Reilly said that Manta remains on schedule for its planned May 26 opening.

March 5, 2012 at 9:10 PM · Fantastic news, although it still seems quite a bit still needs to get done in the just over 2 months left till opening. Can't wait to experience this new attraction!
March 6, 2012 at 11:38 AM · Hopefully this ride looks better than Atlantis! That's a fun ride the first few times, but it has a weak attempt at a theme and story line. So hopefully Manta is just all out fun and they drop any attempt at a story, or actually put quality into their story lines.
