2012 Best Attraction Tournament: It's Tough to Be a Bug! vs. Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

March 5, 2012, 2:49 PM · Today's afternoon vote in the 2012 Theme Park Insider Tournament features two popular Disney shows that break the "fourth wall" between the screen and the audience.

In It's Tough to Be a Bug! the characters "leap out" into the audience and cause mayhem, thanks to 4D effects. In Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, the characters interact with specific audience members, even accepting jokes texted in by visitors. Which one gets your vote into Round Three?

March 5, 2012 at 2:54 PM · This line up comes down to consistency. At it's most hilarity, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor is the funniest thing at Walt Disney World. However, it's possible to get a bad show and groan once or twice at the bad puns and leave it at that. It's Tough to be a Bug is consistent at getting great reactions out of guests, but after the third or fourth show leaves much to be desired. At least at the third or fourth viewing, Monster's Inc Laugh Floor CAN give a great show. I'm voting based off the best possible show each can offer and going with Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor.
March 5, 2012 at 3:05 PM · I love Jungle Cruise! And I voted Monsters.
March 5, 2012 at 4:08 PM · I voted Monsters Inc. When I saw ITTBAB, I wasn't a big fan of it.
March 5, 2012 at 4:27 PM · Laugh Floor is a decent idea but in the wrong park. A move to Pixar Place, and a reworking of the show to include... "more"... and it might have a chance.

ITTBAB is a delight every time I see it, and it never fails to tickle my funny bone when I hear unprepared children bust out the waterworks.

March 5, 2012 at 4:45 PM · They are both very medeocer attractions and I donĀ“t care for them much. That said the theming and building for ITTBAB is better and it makes kids cry. So there is your winner.
March 5, 2012 at 5:30 PM · ITTBAB because of the great effects, story, and theatre. Monsters Inc is fine but I can get bad jokes anytime by listening to myself.
March 5, 2012 at 6:31 PM · Even though I've never seen either, I can't vote against Mike Wazowski and Boo!
March 5, 2012 at 6:52 PM · I never been to laugh flooor don't know why I just haven't been intrested in it that's the first reason my vote goes to the bugs and second I love that show is the second on its kind (1st place mickeys phillar magic)
March 5, 2012 at 8:17 PM · Never seen the Laugh Floor, so I gotta go with Tough to be a Bug.
March 5, 2012 at 8:26 PM · Mike, what would it be like if you and Mike Wazowski did a comedy sketch together? :P
March 6, 2012 at 4:16 AM · Dom, it would be re-MIKE-able! Maybe we could get Third Eye Blind as our opening act!
March 6, 2012 at 7:37 AM · It pained me to vote for either of these "blah" shows, but I had to go with ITTBAB since it has at least a few redeeming qualities.
March 6, 2012 at 8:02 AM · Two attractions that I have no real love for, I voted for 'It's Tough to Be a Bug!' cause I am kinda amused that, despite the warnings, people still bring their small children into this attraction, only to have to deal with them crying afterwards...
March 6, 2012 at 10:12 AM · Again inconsistency killed Monsters Inc for me. ITtBaB is hilarious when you bring people who haven't seen the show yet. Plus the music while waiting is awesome!
