Disney donates its 'California' Adventure letters to the State Fair
Disneyland announced today that it has donated the old "California" letters that originally stood in front of Disney California Adventure
theme park to the California State Fair.
Disney removed the letters a few years ago to make way for the new, Pan Pacific-inspired entry plaza to the Disneyland Resort's second theme park. The letters now will stand in front of a new entrance to Cal Expo, the site of the state fair in Sacramento.

The letters will make their debut in northern California sometime in September. (The 2012 California State Fair will be held at Cal Expo July 12-29.)
So now Californians who want to pose with their initial will get to do that in Sacramento, instead of Anaheim.
This is just about the best destination I can imagine for this. Good call.
I snorted at the never making anything that will end up at the state fair comment!
I'm just glad I got a photo with them before they were gone!
Better than chipped up into a landfill.
It seems like a great fit.
I'm glad Disney chose to do something that helped the state and community with the item it no longer wanted. It basically put them into the recycling bin instead of the trash and I appreciate that.
You're lookin' kind of Indiana Jones there, Robert!
I am glad that they are being repurposed. I really did not get the original concept until someone pointed out the California postcard look. I did take many a photo under different letters and enjoyed the seasonal decorations.
I'm happy that the letters are coming to Cal Expo! How appropriate and it's right in my backyard. Always loved the letters and was sad to see them go, but now I can have a bit of Disney every time I go to the state fair.
