Speaking of in-park Starbucks locations, the final one, in Animal Kingdom, will take over the old Creature Comforts location and open this summer.

Finally, over in the Downtown Disney/Disney Springs, the new causeway bridge between Rainforest Cafe and Fulton's Crab House will open February 13.

Disney is redoing the road in front of DTD and getting into and out of DTD is just crazy. The parking garage is awesome, but I won't be setting a foot back into Downtown Disney until all that construction is done.
February 7, 2015 at 4:23 PM · My family and I will miss the hat. It was a better iconic symbol than the water tower that they started with. Are there plans to have another focal point/photo opportunity spot at Hollywood Studios?
February 7, 2015 at 4:46 PM · I think the Chinese Theater behind the hat did well as a photo opp before the hat's arrival, and will do well as such again once the hat is removed.
February 7, 2015 at 6:40 PM · Was speaking with an employee at Hollywood Studios this week. They advised that some of the contracts for the Indiana Jones stunt show have been renewed for another two years, because with so much shut down in the park right now, they couldn't afford to have the show stop. I'm guessing that means that any work on a new Star Wars land won't be starting until 2017 at least (working on the assumption that the IJSS location is the most logical place for Star Wars to go).
February 8, 2015 at 3:02 AM · Egads! ^^^ As a former "employee" of a Disney park, may I please ask that we are referred to as Cast Members?

You know...why not just shut down the entire DHS park for a while? Polish, clean, and update things here and there (such as the Aerosmith movie) while building Star Wars Land without trying to work around guests.

I know, I know. They can't do that. And with AK hardly worthy of a visit right now, they'd be down to only two parks.

I can hear Universal Orlando and Disneyland laughing right now.

Just shows how much more bang for your buck you get at UO and DLR than you get at WDW, I suppose.

February 8, 2015 at 10:55 AM · I see a fair few goings, but a severe lack of coming in's !!!! If this park goes up in attendance this year i'll just despair.
February 9, 2015 at 6:21 AM · B Goodwin they actually decided to keep IJSS open through 2017 because all of the dance/cheer competitions are held on that set and they are booked through 2017. So I assume Disney is also working on a new location to host these events post IJSS.
February 9, 2015 at 7:16 AM · I'm so glad they are getting rid of the horrible hat. Looking down the street will be the beautiful view that it was intended to be. Random rant....Hollywood Studios has the most horrible parking lot. Cars coming from different gates and having to cross in front of other cars. They really should just shut this park down and re-do the entire park....at Universal speed, not DIsney speed.
February 9, 2015 at 1:27 PM · Goodbye ugly hat. That makes 2 down (the wand and the hat) and 1 to go, the "monuments" outside of EPCOT.

Gabriel Schroll, why is Animal Kingdom not worth a visit?
No attractions have closed (except for the parade, which never quite worked on those narrow walkways anyway). There are construction walls up around the lake for the night time show. There was construction walls on Discovery Island but those came down this week with the expanded walkway and new tree root animals.

Right now the attraction count (including shows, rides and animal trails) is higher at Animal Kingdom than it is at Hollywood Studios. The only major difference really is Fantasmic and the new night show at AK next year will fix that.

February 11, 2015 at 5:42 AM · They desperately need to focus on comings rather than goings. The park has the lowest ride count. They need to add new rides and give the great movie ride a facelift ( Ghostbusters scene?).
February 11, 2015 at 6:47 AM · Employee or cast member, same thing. It doesn't really matter.
February 13, 2015 at 5:29 PM · Just out of curiosity, are you sure the TCC/Starbucks is opening in the "old Adrian and Edith's Head to Toe" location, given that that shop is still open? I thought they were going into the old LA Prop & Cinema Storage site.
