Busch Gardens' Cobra's Curse to open next week

June 10, 2016, 11:39 AM · Busch Gardens Tampa this morning announced that its delayed family spinning coaster, Cobra's Curse, will open to the public next Friday, June 17.

The park had announced a media preview for late last month, only to cancel it, citing the need for additional testing. But the park did release a multi-angle POV video of the new ride, in which coaster cars will change direction multiple times along the track, based on the weight distribution of riders in the car.

Cobra's Curse is a Mack family spinning coaster, with a top speed of 40 mph and a 2,100-foot track. It starts with a 70-foot vertical lift that puts riders within just a few feet of a giant cobra head icon. Given Busch Gardens' tradition as an animal park, you'll be able to see several exotic snake species in the queue, including vipers, mambas, and pythons.
