Wednesday round-up: Roller coaster joy ride

June 22, 2016, 10:03 PM · The Ultimate Fastpass

Two teenagers broke into Blackpool Pleasure Beach last Friday, taking a 4am joy ride on a kiddie coaster that they activated.

The two climbed over locked gates, the found a way to turn on the 82-year-old Blue Flyer coaster, taking rides for up to 30 minutes. Formerly known as the Zipper Dipper, the Blue Flyer is a 1934 Philadelphia Toboggan coaster with a top speed of 15 mph. After riding the coaster, the two then broke into a cafe before being caught, according to a BBC report.

Or Maybe a Free One...

There's a new way to get an extra Fastpass+ reservation at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom... but you'll have to work for it. Starting today, Disney started offering a bonus Fastpass+ to anyone who completes at least three of the five tasks on the Pirate's Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas interactive game in Adventureland. Fans also get collectible cards at the completion of each mission.

June 23, 2016 at 8:35 AM · I assume this to be no different than what Clark Griswald did when he and his family invaded Walley World. They must have figured out how to start all those coasters themselves, as no employees were there to operate the attractions. Otherwise, wouldn't it have been easier to keep them locked in their safety restrains until the police arrived?? Just sayin.....
June 23, 2016 at 9:21 AM · I hate to say, it but this is hilarious... Took a coaster for a Joy ride...

Probably former workers who knew what and how to operate.

Might want to put a lock on the power switch or a kill switch locked in a building..

June 23, 2016 at 1:10 PM · How does a normal person just start a ride?
June 23, 2016 at 3:21 PM · That's a BRILLIANT move to reward people playing the interactive games with a FastPass. It keeps them out of line, but having fun while virtually queueing.
