Disney theme parks announce 2019 discounts for service members

December 31, 2018, 11:21 AM · Walt Disney World and Disneyland are offering steeply discounted theme park tickets to active and retired members of the U.S. military in 2019. Disney announced today specially priced four- and five-day Park Hopper tickets at the Walt Disney World Resort and three- and four-day Park Hoppers at Disneyland, with discounts up to 53 percent.

Active-duty or retired members of the U.S. military, including the National Guard, reservists and the U.S. Coast Guard, the Commissioned Corps of the Public Health Service, and the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, can buy the tickets through participating military ticket sales offices. The tickets are not subject to the date-specific variable pricing that Walt Disney World introduced on its multi-day tickets earlier this year.

Disneyland's military ticket pricing is not yet available.

Tickets must be used by December 19, 2019. Eligible service members may buy up to six discounted tickets, but one of them must be used by the service member or their spouse.

In addition, Disney is offering discounts to eligible military personnel on select hotel rooms at both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts during 2019. Military ID will be required at check-in. Again, check with the military sales office for booking information.

For everyone else, Disneyland and Walt Disney World are offering other ticket discounts to the general public. Details below:

Programs and discounts for the military are abused constantly, but they can also be super impactful for families. I'm glad that Disney (and others) still try to make a military discount available. There are so many military families trying to feel "normal", heal, or just more forward in life.

We can do so much better, but I am thankful for what this is.
