Universal Orlando moves up opening date for Surfside Inn

March 20, 2019, 9:14 AM · If you've been to Orlando recently, you might have seen the huge construction project on the site of the old Wet 'n Wild water park. Those new buildings will be Universal Orlando's Endless Summer Resort, with the new hotels opening in two phases.

Universal previously announced that the first of the new hotels to open, Surfside Inn and Suites, would debut in August of this year. This morning, however, Universal moved up the opening date to June 27.

Two hotel complexes on either side of Universal Blvd. will offer a total of 4,000 rooms, including 1,450 two-bedroom suites. Rates start as low as $85 a night, based on multi-night purchases, but no matter how short your stay, these are the lowest-priced "on property" theme park hotels in the Orlando area.

A stay at the hotels will include Early Park Admission benefits to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Volcano Bay, although they will not include Universal Express Unlimited, which remains only for guests of the original three on-site Universal Orlando hotels: The Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, and Royal Pacific.

The second Endless Summer hotel, Dockside Inn and Suites, will open in May 2020.
