More details added to this summer's D23 Expo program

June 6, 2019, 6:52 PM · We've got some more details now about this summer's D23 Expo, the Disney fans convention that runs from August 23-25 at the Anaheim Convention Center, across the street from Disneyland.

Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek will detail upcoming changes and additions to Walt Disney World's Epcot during the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products presentation at 10:30am Pacific on Sunday, August 25. That presentation is always filled with reveals and announcements about upcoming attractions, so it's a definite highlight for theme park fans attending the Expo.

The Expo kicks off with the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony at 10:30am Friday, the 23rd. Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger enshrine the new class of Legends, which include Walt Disney Imagineering's Wing Chao and long-time theme park show director Barnette Ricci, as well as actors Robert Downey Jr., Jon Favreau, James Earl Jones, and Bette Midler.

At 3:30 that afternoon, Disney will offer a first look at some of the original programming coming to the new Disney+ streaming service. Then on Saturday morning, the Walt Disney Studios will present its upcoming slate of live-action and animated films, at 10am. This includes what's coming next from Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and Disney Animation.

All the presentations typically include Disney celebrities, and we're not just talking about Mickey and Friends. That's why the D23 Expo is always one of the hottest tickets among Disney fans. Three-day and Saturday-only tickets are already sold out, but one-day tickets for Friday and Sunday (the day of the Disney Parks presentation) remain available on the D23 website.
