Walt Disney World prepares for the opening of Epcot Forever

September 27, 2019, 2:57 PM · Epcot's long-running IllumiNations nighttime spectacular closes on Monday, clearing the way for its (ironically temporary) replacement, Epcot Forever, which debuts Tuesday night.

Epcot Forever will run through the end of the year and up until next summer, when the World Showcase Lagoon's long-term new spectacular, HarmonioUS, will debut. Until then, Epcot Forever will celebrate the park's history will a new production of fireworks, lights, lasers, and — for the first time — special-effects kites that will fly over the lagoon. Disney today offered a look inside the final preparations for the show:

Music will be another draw for Epcot Forever, which will celebrate the park by including many original songs written for its attractions. Here's a look into the music production for the show.

Disney will webcast the premiere of Epcot Forever on its website, starting at 8:50pm on Tuesday, October 1.

Looking forward to seeing Epcot Forever on its premiere night. Good riddance to IllumiNations. Disney has been doing their darnedest to ruin the viewing experience between Fastpass viewing, new lagoonside restaurants, and dessert parties. Time for some new experiences that are made to be enjoyed with the existing viewing spaces.

I will miss Illuminations but a good long run and long overdue for a new show so sure this will be great.

Love the throwback to include EPCOT Center’s timeless music!

The first time I saw Illuminations, I was really impressed. I loved the walls of water where they displayed cartoons. Then they changed the show. I didn't like the new show. Now, they're changing it to EPCOT forever. I'm impressed with what I see on the video. I'm anxious to see if the actual show will be as great.
