This is great news and frankly everyone wins; the parks for their goodwill and the charities. In case you don't know, Worlds of Fun is doing a very similar thing for the first rides on their new woodie Prowler, apparently now due to open May 2. All of the money from the winning bids (and there will be 18 winners) goes to the Kansas City chapter of the Susan G Komen for the Cure (of breast cancer) charity.

Also, (sorry for the side note), WOF is having a Season Passholder's Preview day for The Prowler on May 1, 2009. Since I probably won't be able to afford the auction, I will be at the park on May 1.
