If you go to the Gerstlauer site, they have a rendering of the actual coaster. Actually they've been pretty much giving away the announcement for a couple of weeks.

There is a great mini-site at http://www.dollywood.com/mmine/default.htm promoting the new ride. Dollywood is building a very detailed back story for the attraction, seeming acheiving a level of themeing that rivals a Disney E-ticket. Click on the "Mine Legend" section to watch movie clips that describe the legend. "What if there is no light at the end of the tunnel?

Didn't someone announce this about a month ago? I recall visiting the mini site already.

Just another transition from thrill to theme ... good job, Dolly.

Well this news story was a tad bit late.

Umm... sorry for the dupe.

Hey, I'm suffering from a nasty summer cold now. No excuse, just an explanation. I'll try to get my brain rebooted sometime this afternoon.

Mea Culpa! Sorry everyone for the stale news! I had just gotten an email from Dollywood saying they were "announcing" their new attraction.

keep checking te mini site because if Dollywood does as before, site will have pictures as it goes up. I was at Dollywood this past weekend and you can see sight from the train ride. They are just getting started.

Actually, they've been teasing the ride for about a month. They released the name, but not the ride. It's a thrill ride alright, with drops going beyond 90 degrees vertical. It hasn't been a well kept secret.
