El Toro looks like a monster. From what I have read, heard, and you-tubed, it appears to be the only "wooden" coaster that can give The Voyage a run for its money.

It's a bit shorter than The Voyage, but the steeper drops and hill layout look like more airtime to me. (Haven't ridden El Toro, so I can't say for sure.)

Any readers who've been on both care to chime in?

Such extreme airtime!! It's the only woodie that made me happy that I had been stapled into my seat by the launch crew!

Indeed it is the only wooden coaster I've been on that gives The Voyage a run for number one. Though, personally I think The Voyage is the over-all better of the two.

El Toro has got an amazing first drop, some pretty decent "floater" air, and the incredibly intense yet smooth s-curves. But, The Voyage provides a kind of out-of-control, pushing the limit experience that builds from mid-ride all the way to the station, along with some great airtime - though not as much "float".

I watched some unofficial YouTube videos, and noticed that there is a lot of steel framework built on top of the wooden superstructure, so that's likely why it's so smooth.

This is, BY FAR, my favorite wooden coaster anywhere. No, I haven't been on The Voyage (yet!) but that doesn't change the fact that El Toro is an incredibly fun and intense coaster. The first drop can only really be understood by having ridden El Toro...the whole coaster is just awesome!

I went on this ride one year ago while it was 42 degrees and rainy, and they were letting us ride El Toro non-stop.... The initial lift is really fast for a wooden coaster and that first drop... IS STEEEEEEEEEP!!! By far the best finale for any wooden coaster and by far my favorite wooden roller coaster of all time! Super Smooth, Super Fast, Super Steep, Track Variety from most wooden coasters, and just Crazy fun!!!!

Best ride I have ever ridden and I have been all over the country. Amazing airtime and great themeing all make for a great experience..I would recommend this ride to anyone!
