Tough call between the powered sugar and strawberries, but I just had a wonderful fresh batch of strawberries today and it definitely swayed my vote that way.

I want to say none of those choices, although one is close. For me, the best way to eat funnel cake is the way they did it at Canada's Wonderland back in the day - Strawberries and soft serve ice cream. mmm...

Yeah, I kept the ice cream off the list out of fear that it would have swamped all other choices.

Perhaps we should just stipulate that whipped cream, ice cream and chocolate sauce potentially go with everything so should be considered as standing options on all other combinations. :-)

I'm powdered sugar all the way, but it's blasphemy time:

I prefer zeppoles to funnel cake.

For those who may not be familiar with zeppoles, they're fried balls of dough. Funnel cake, but in a different form. Elephant ears, zeppoles, funnel cake..all the same roots! Zeppoles are often found at carnivals, boardwalks, and some pizzerias. My parish carnival's are my favorite, and the carnival opens 4/20..right after I get back from Kings Dominion and I-305!

I normally go for powdered sugar, but last year I opted for powdered sugar and hot fudge. The first half was outstanding, the 2nd half not so much. Sugar overload!

(I have to admit that I am intrigued by the idea of a PB&J funnel cake. Done right - and it'd be tricky to pull off - it could very well be the thing that kills me from over-the-top joy. Done wrong, it could kill me by just grossing me out so much.)

A great thempark treat is a belgium waffle with icecream on it that is what these funnel cakes with icecream remind me of. Another good way to eat a funnel cake is have chocolate syrup on top of the sugar. Or even better at a carnival last year I found CHOCOLATE funnel cake.
