Not really a big fan of Star Tours in it's current state. Queue is good and i love the look from outside. But I'm a Star Wars fan, so I hope 2.0 will be great. Hope they don't mess this up...

The film and the themeing were great at Startours. Was the first simulator ride i ever saw as a 12 year old kid. Only the better imax simulators can top Startours.

I actually like the Mailboomer and I am suprised they are not keeping it!

Many local parks are also closing during the week since many start school tomorrow!

"To infinity and beyond" as Mr Lightyear might describe the passing of Star Tours.
It had it's moment in the sun and now it has to be retired due to old age and space fatigue. This once state-of-the-art simulator ride is going to that great galaxy in the sky. A sort of " attraction heaven" where the former glories can be relived eternally.
Anyway.........putting all that mush to one side..........Star Tours had , regrettably, outlived it's brief to thrill and entertain and was looking worn and tired. I , like many others out there, will mourn it's passing, sentimental souls that we are, but will also eagerly look forward to the updated incarnation.
This is "Au Revoir" and not " Goodbye".

We are going to WDW in November and my 9YO is really ticked that Star Tours is closed. He actually said last week that he doesn't want to go now becasue of no Star Tours.

I'm sad that the Orignial Star Tours is closed, but I'm looking forward to the 2.0 version. We've made Star Tours a regular stop every time we go to DL. In fact my dad's company supplied some of the material for the themeing in the building so I've always felt a little tiny bit of connection with the attraction. the farmer's market at DCA waas also a regular stop when it was open to get some fruit or drinks. Since I'm involved in the agriculture industry I'm kind of sad to see that area go if only for the missed educational benefit for the city kids.

We rode the Maliboomer yesterday on its last day. The wait was over 20 minutes. They had only one tower operating; they had already dismantled most of the seats on the other two towers.

Today walls were supposed to go up all over DCA: the front entrance, portions of Paradise Pier, and over near Flik's Fun Fair to start demolition for the Cars Land entrance. We left last night so can't confirm how much went up today.

Im going to go off the path a little here and say old town in florida, it is a great place to unwind in a different way after a day at the regular orlando parks. You can grab a beer, do some karaoke, ride a ride and then walk through a haunted house. Is it the best place in the world no, but since you will most likely be traveling to disney anyway you might as well give this spot a shot. Also from what I remember the flying ride was the highest in the country, it is insane. This spot is what paradise island used to be but better in my opinion.
