Published: November 1, 2010 at 12:26 PMThat's the reason China will have two Disneylands. I just wonder how was the restroom experience at that expo.
Published: November 1, 2010 at 7:26 PMI remember going to the Indianapolis 500 in 1995 and there was estimated to be around 500,000 people in attendance. I can't imagine a crowd that big. They need to get several parks there ASAP.
Published: November 1, 2010 at 8:10 PMThat is just crazy! I don't mean crazy "good", I mean crazy "crazy!!". I know over there is common that every single and expected everything to be crowded, but that many people can't be fun. Luckily they didn't have an earthquake or a terrorist attack or a mutiny or something. Cause they would have broken a couple of records too. The not so good kind of records...
It is amazing though to see an event of that scale, and more amazing to hear something that in our Capitalist society you would almost never hear "Don't come today, come another day!!" That's how dangerous 400,000 people over capacity is.
Published: November 2, 2010 at 5:51 AMI was in Shanghai Sep'09. I was amazed at all the construction and preparations going on to get ready for the Expo. It's looks like a success. They were already selling Expo merchandise in '09. I was able to get a pin of the Expo Mascot.
Published: November 2, 2010 at 1:01 PMNOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Not a 6th Dinseyland clone. They should keep that expo for a while instead. Loved the one we had in Hannover, which was much smaller. But lines were a pain even at that low attended expo. They should just always open them at least a full year.
Published: November 3, 2010 at 5:50 PMI was actually at the Shanghai Expo in early September and the crowds were "light" - about 300,000-400,000 people. Even then, some pavilions had 3-4 hour waits. (Obviously, I never waited in those lines.) But trust me, the expo had some cool things, but nothing compared to any amusement park.
Published: November 5, 2010 at 5:15 PMDarn! I'd rather spend Christmas Day, Easter, or Independence Day in the Magic Kingdom than there! (The memories of Christmas 96 are coming back to me now. I couldn't ride more than two rides because the crowds were up to the brim!)
