Looks like I would have a heart attack trying to eat one of those shooters...they do look pretty delicious though.

My husband and I have been to Mythos' on many occasions and except for the 1st time, we've been mostly disappointed; we'd continued to try because we prefer table service. The food is usually good to very good, though the menu hasn't changed much in close to a decade. However, the service is so uneven and, at times, unprofessional, that we now eat at the Enchanted Oak Tavern. We eat lunch at opening time, before the crowds, but from hostess to waiter the staff always seem to be 15-20 minutes behind the opening of the place - confusion nearly always reigns as the frustrated and untrained hostess struggles to organize the initial customer seating arrangements, usually rudely and harried, the wait staff stand around and watch. Have you ever gone to a restaurant, have the waiter give you a menu, fail to tell you the specials (but you hear him tell the next table he waits on), and then make you wait for 10 minutes for your beverages, when you are only one of 5 tables filled? We have. When asked about the menu, 7 out of 9 times, our waiter either couldn't answer the question or simply re-read what the menu said about the dish. Great food and creative presentation mean absolutely nothing when you are disappointed, frustrated and then angry about how you are being ignored and/or dismally served. Oh, the time about the specials? When the waiter returned with our beverages I asked him why he didn't tell us the specials when he gave us the menus he told me that I hadn't asked. When he began to recite the specials, he was obviously annoyed at us for making him go through it all. Really.

We ate at Mythos when we were at Universal last spring. We found it to be a wonderful experience. The food was good, the atmosphere was excellent, the service was fine, the prices were reasonable. I have no problem recommending it without reservation.
