Published: September 13, 2011 at 2:58 PMAs a former Skipper, you wont believe the complaints if we don't use the gun. About 98% of the skippers don't aim at the hippos, and we are told not to. However, the scene was and plays that the hippos are charging the boat and we, the boat and skipper, but do something to save our lives.
Yes, skippers used to shoot the hippos, but not anymore. I don't think we should, but I think we should keep the gun.

"It's an entirely new way to experience the Jungle Cruise. Every visitor will be equipped with a special hippo pistol and will win points for every hippo blasted from the water! Get your boat's high score, and you could win 'The Pith Helmet'."
I am *so* entering this in the next Theme Park Apprentice game, by the way. ;^)
