That being said, both attractions are fantastic and a step forward for both styles of technology, but I've got to give the edge to Spidey for no other reason than the scene where you seemingly plummet down the side of the building. That ALWAYS screws with my sense of reality.
First, although I know there will be pairings that aren't exactly perfect, to me having Spider-Man go against ROM is comparing apples to oranges.
Spider-Man is a total immersion dark ride in my book. ROM is a coaster. They shouldn't be going against each other.
Keep coasters with coasters and dark rides with dark rides.
Just my opinion.
Revenge of the Mummy was such a disappointment after all the hype I heard about it. Sub-standard roller coaster, plus an okay dark ride does not make a great ride, IMO.
And I just love Spiderman. I remember going on it when IOA first opened and it was the most impressive ride I'd ever been on. And it's still so much fun.
Ultimately, I have to go with the one that I consider a "must-ride" everytime I go to Universal. I've been known to skip Spiderman, but not only is the Mummy a "must-ride", it's a "must-ride-several-times". :-)
It's not looking like the vote is going to go my way, but I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Mummy gets my vote for this reason. Hope Spidey's upgrade will include the mechanics as well as the visuals!
I liked Spider-Man, although not as much as many others seem to. But Mummy was still under construction on my last visit, so I had to go with what I know (hey, I'm a poet and don't know it!)
