I expect this could go where the Narnia attraction was in the past. Given the quality level of what's been in that location, I'm not going to get too excited about it.

It sounds like they're just gonna dump some POTC props in the old Narnia exhibit area and add some interactive bells and whistles.

Haunted Mansion was a walk through before it became a ride. The popularity of Pirates and Jack Sparrow will not enable a mere walk through attraction. Yet, I don't think they want to go with POTC-2 Ride. Disney was awfully premature with its ideas. No wonder they pulled it. It is just too blue sky.

Agreed with previous posters, we're looking at plans for replacing Narnia. Heck, this could even be what replaces Sounds Dangerous, which is set to close soon.

Pirates was originally conceptualized as a walk-thru attraction way-back-when. It wasn't until later that the idea of the full ride-thru came about...this is probably an homage to the original concept - which was included in a D23 calendar two or three years back.

I have nothing against the Pirates movies or Captain Jack, but there's enough of him in the POTC ride. Let's have an original concept instead.

By the way, Mansion was originally planned as a walk through, not Pirates. And those plans were changed, so Mansion was never a walk through attraction. I even rode it in 1969, the year it opened, and subsequently in the early 70s, and it was always a ride. People, please get your facts straight, before offering a faulty history lesson.

Sylvain, just like Haunted Mansion was going to be a walk through attraction, Pirates too was originally envisioned as a walk through wax museum.

Since this isn't a behind the scenes or movie trailer *cough*Narnia*cough*, I think this will be a mixture between the movies and Walt's original concept.

Exactly what do they mean immerse? I hope its where like you go into a room designed like the fountain of youth or the black pearl you'll actually feel like your on the ship. Anyone else got any guesses? Only other thing i can think of is where you see animatronics reenact scenes from the films .

Yep, the offical book, "Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies" even has concept art for it as a walk through.

I too hope that it pulls you into the world of the Pirates while on foot. The original attraction is fantastic and all, but you're on a boat... sitting in a boat. I'd want to walk through the Black Pearl, or through the island of Tortuga, etc.

I hate this small crap Disney Hollywood studios does. Come on, give us a CARS LAND level of expansion/new thing to this crap park. This is the one park that I skip every year. I only go to this part once in 10 years. The other parks I go almost every year.
