Published: August 30, 2012 at 4:27 AMWe took a couple years off from this event because it was getting pretty predictable and we didn't enjoy it as much as the first few times we went. This year we already purchased tickets due to the Walking Dead theme alone.
HHN comes with considerable cost. Much higher than we experienced when we first moved down here in 2003. Of course, that can be said with everything "theme park" related down here! Parking has gone from $6 to $15 during that same time! We paid just shy of $92 per person for tickets and express passes for the first night of the event. That was the least expensive option (using the Coke UPC code discount offer on the tickets). The express passes were $39.99 for the first Friday and that is the least expensive day of the event. Express passes go for $59.99 the next Friday and $79.99 on the third Friday. It is our opinion unless one wants to spend 80% of their time in queue at this event, one should definitely pony up for the express passes. It will make your night much more enjoyable.
I am excited and hoping the event does for me what it did the first time I went. I just LOVE this time of year down here!

Published: August 30, 2012 at 9:30 AMMark, true the cost has gone up way high, but we keep schilling out every year. :) Haven't bought any tickets yet, but will shortly. Anyone ever encounter sell-outs with the Express passes? I'm waiting longer than normal to buy tickets and worry about sellouts.
Published: August 30, 2012 at 12:15 PMAs far as express goes, I always buy the reduced after 11 pass. Its not advertised, but if you go to buy an express after 11:00pm the price is significantally lower. I think last year it was 39.99 for the after 11, when the normal price was 79.99. I have never had any problems with express being sold out either.
Published: August 30, 2012 at 10:41 PMI am extremely disappointed that there is not a central theme and main character.
Published: September 1, 2012 at 1:39 PM^Actually, I am glad they are giving the icon thing a rest. The past 4 years haven't had great theming, with the exception of Ripped from the Silver Screen. I'm willing to give this shift a chance with the hopes that it will freshen the event up.
Published: September 3, 2012 at 7:46 AMI think the Walking Dead thing has kinda been overused. I could have sworn there was some experience like this at a convention (Comic Con?). I have a feeling that the Six Flags parks might do it too!
I kinda liked the Icon bit that they did. It gave a good theme.
Published: September 4, 2012 at 7:49 PMit seems like they kind of just gave up this year. Less houses, bye bye scare zones. I am a huge fan and will not miss a year, but I am quite underwhelmed this year. So far...
