Spend some money on this ride and keep it the way it is! I can understand if this was a very unpopular and stupid ride, but it was still a crowd favorite with little complaints. Look at the other rides in the Orlando area gone...
Alien Encounter (only had a cult following, huge complaints)
Alfred Hitchcock and Murder She Wrote (extremly outdated)-Loved both of them, but I might be in the minority
Timekeeper (didn't bring in the lines)
Take Flight (always walked right onto this one)
compare that with BBTF
15-30 minute wait at least!
I also think our informed opinions of attractions are differnt than the general public. I think thats why so many of us liked attractions like Alien Encounter, Cranium Command, etc
:-( :-0 :'(
The reason I hated BTTF was becasue of the cars, they were ill designed, not taking into account peoples various shapes and sizes. How many people do you know that have complained about suffering motion sickness once the ride ended???
Fingers crossed they at least make the cheap alterations un noticable to the general public.
Does anyone know if they have full rights? Can they add charectors to the park? That would be a good addition!
Secondly, In my opinion, Jaws doesn't even hold a candle to BTTF's greatness. Yeah, it was old, it needed a little fixing up, but not totally taken out.
And now there is news that they are Putting the Simpson with the same idea? Is Universal Crazy? This just goes to prove that Universal does not pay attention to anything. This is going to be their "Stitch's Great Escape" If Universal wants to be awesome, it needs to WAKE UP!
Yes, Back To The Future is dear to some of our hearts but Simpsons are HUGE. They're STILL an international success and the longest running sitcom on television. I don't care what your personal opinion on it is but it still makes for an attraction at Universal, my favorite theme park.
Back To The Future made most people I know nauseous and the only reason I would put myself through it (when I decided not to skip it) was purely for my love of BTTF. I hope The Simpsons will utilize new simulator technology that will make for a much smoother ride experience.
The concept for the ride sounds awesome. You have to wait until Spring to comment on the execution.
Apparently, they could hava made this into another indoor coaster, as was suggested internally. The BTTF building is 3 floored (2 Floors below what you see, not the levels inside) so space isn't an issue, the cost of removing the 2 floor and reinforcing the walls was...
Also it appears that the voices of the Springfield residents may not all be provided by the original actors.
If you take into account the cost of hiring the "Vouice Artists" for each Episode of the Simpsons (Stupid money) there would be no way Universal would pay that much, so they will be using sound-a-likes whereever possible!
Maybe ERIK could start something on that radio thing he does (plug plug plug) and get you guys to call in and leave your best simpson voice!
