Published: July 31, 2013 at 5:04 AMThe first thing that came to my mind was the "toilet bowl" water ride found at every water park.
Published: July 31, 2013 at 5:40 AMMy guess is some sort of special Despicable Me based drink given that Universal seems to be really into making themed drinks for their new areas.
Published: July 31, 2013 at 6:05 AMI think they've discovered just how much money they make off of butter beer so they are making another unique drink to sell in a different part of the park.
Also note their season passes, which give you discounts in restaurants, don't give you discounts at the street vendor locations so everyone pays full price for it, even passholders.

Published: July 31, 2013 at 7:43 AMI think maybe this will be something similar to the twirl'n' hurl ride going in to florida.
Published: July 31, 2013 at 7:48 AM'Silly Swirly' is obviously a soft serve cream cone. Theme park food is getting name brands following the success of butterbeer.

Published: July 31, 2013 at 1:49 PMThe Orlando Sentinel reported today that Comcast is accelerating their capital spending plans & expansion timetables for their parks. Looks like more exciting attractions are in the very immediate future.
Published: July 31, 2013 at 10:03 PMI'm pretty sure this is going to be the new flat ride going into Super Silly Fun Land.
Published: August 2, 2013 at 1:26 AMUniversal is definitely going to keep rolling out signature beverages and products based on each land.
The Flaming Moe is a huge hit in the Simpsons area. It is insanely overpriced compared to a Butterbeer and is nowhere near as good (IMO) but it is something you will only want to try once.
I had four Butterbeers this trip, but never wanted to go back for another Flaming Moe.
I am guessing the Silly Swirl will be a vanilla / banana or chocolate / banana soft serve ice cream in a specially shaped cone for Despicable Me.
I was also a bit disappointed to figure out the same giant Strawberry donut with sprinkles they sell at Emack & Bolio's (Hard Rock Hotel) is identical to the Lard Lad version. The only difference is the Lard Lad version comes in a cute box. It had been available for years...
