The train was going less than 10 mph when it bumped into the idle train. No one was really injured. One person suffered an asthma attack. On a different note, Maverick is receiving excellent reviews. Anyone ride it today?

Does anyone know yet if it was ride malfunction or if it was ride operator error? I love this coaster and I would still ride it again. I know that Cedar Point is very strict on the maitenance of all their rides and for an accident to happen right after opening seems to be pointing more in the ride operator error.

Cedar Point must be good at hiding these things, because i didn't hear anything till morning. all i know is that it was having a few problems before opening (it got stuck on the lift twice) but nothing too major. Also that i didn't get a ride on it, Though i did get Maverick!

The word is that rain caused the accident -- made the rails too slick to stop the train on time. (Which raises the question of why that wasn't factored into design....)
