I can't help thinking this does nothing new. It is just a more expensive Lion King show and food, almost like a dinner theater. It isn't even an after hours park event, which I would think would make the journey even more special. Perhaps if they offer more original music, it would make the event more special. "Circle of Life" is overplayed.

Beside all that, I guess it is worth it if you enjoy The Lion King in just one more incarnation.

The food and street entertainment line-up reminds me of a Disney press event. So Disney's selling a press event for the public? Why not? Disney made big bucks selling the cast Christmas party to the public, too.

Either way, the live orchestra is a nice upgrade to the regular show, and surely accounts for a good chunk of the cost.
