With the Contemporary's new rooms, this should make an excellent addition. I imagine due to the Magic Kingdom proximity and Contemporary popularity that they will be pricier than standard DVC rentals.

Did anyone think this tower would be anything other than a new DVC location?

I think that it is cheaper and just as nice to stay at the Sheraton Vistanna Resort or one of the many "time share " places that you really don't have to pay into to stay at. I owned a time share and it is cheaper to just get a room. The time you want is never available no matter what they tell you in their sales pitch. Also, you have to pay assessment fees which are only a few hundred but add that to the amount you would pay if you were just getting a room at a resort. Then you have the expense of everything else like airfare etc and you could get a package deal otherwise. I think the time share thing is a racket. We got rid of ours. We wanted to see how special the Disneyworld resorts are so we stayed 2 weeks in a 2 bedroom at the Saratoga Springs resort over Thanksgiving last Nov. It was wonderful but no better than the Sheraton Vistanna we stayed at 5 years earlier. The pool was the best part but you can always take the kids to one of the Disney water parks. The buses at Disney are a nightmare so we ended up renting a car anyway and the perks are no better. you can get discount tickets at the Sheraton for Disneyworld. I guess the only thing better is the extra hours but for the price difference it is not worth it just stay an extra day or longer and it is still cheaper and just as nice.

To stay at the Sheraton Vistanna resort in a 2 bedroom (very nice) for 2 weeks (14 nights) it was about $3000 over Thanksgiving. To stay at the Saratoga Springs Disneyworld Resort for the same time and time of year it was $10,000!!!!! Crazy and I did it thinking it would be a trip of a lifetime but it was not any more special than the Sheraton. There are really not many mickey things or decor. It was a beautiful place but for the price it was not that Much Better!
