Published: July 29, 2008 at 12:52 PMMy first earthquake!!! I've been out here for 5 years and finally it's happened. Three months after I moved out here there was an earthquake 20 miles from my hometown in VA! What?!?! Glad to hear no major reports of damage or injuries.
Published: July 29, 2008 at 3:09 PMMy son, daughter and I were standing in the gift shop off the lobby of the Grand California Resort when we heard a rumble shudder through the walls of the building. The cast member behind the counter became pale and my kids clutched me as the ground shook for about eight or nine seconds.
We spent the rest of the afternoon at the hotel's pool exchanging anecdotes with other guests. My favorite being: "I was at the bar and I told the guy I wanted my drink shaken not stirred ... and then all hell broke loose!"
I enjoyed telling cast members I encountered, "That was the BEST Disney ride ever. How did you do that?"
The hotel's staff should be commended for keeping order and being responsive to guests.
Published: July 29, 2008 at 3:12 PMI felt it too. Not such a bad one, but longer than most other ones which I had experienced. About 20 seconds longer.
Published: July 29, 2008 at 6:51 PMTHIS WAS FROM YAHOO.COM
"Disneyland visitor Clint Hendrickson, 32, said he was in the Golden Horseshoe theater watching a show when the temblor hit.
"The ground moved and the chandelier started shaking," he said. "We are from Texas and we thought it was part of the show, until people started yelling, 'Get under the tables!'"
Attractions at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure theme parks and at the Knott's Berry Farm theme park were temporarily closed for inspections after the shaking."
THAT WAS FUNNY, I WAS IN A SALES MEETING AT THE TIME, MY BOSS RAN OUT THE DOOR, WE ALL MADE FUN OF HIM BECAUSE NONE OF US MOVED.
Published: July 29, 2008 at 7:25 PMi live in LA and felt the earthquake on the top floor of my house- it didnt seem that bad when it happened- my mom really freaked out and convinced me to not take any elevators for the rest of today
Published: July 31, 2008 at 6:38 AMI was listening to my favorite radio program last night, and they were joking about the earthquakes, wondering if anyone was on the Earthquake section of the tram ride at Universal Hollywood during the actual earthquake. I couldn't help but wonder the same.
Published: July 31, 2008 at 12:57 PMI live more in the West L.A. area, so my experience during the earthquake wasn't as bad as the video clips I saw on the news. It first started as a quick tremble, then a mild shake. It was kinda funny though when I was getting mad at my dog for barking at nothing before the quake.
