Don't get me wrong, I love apple pie. But, the question was about Thanksgiving. Pumkin is so autumn. While you can get pumkin pie out of season, I most associate it with fall and Thanksgiving. Although apple is also a fall fruit, you can get it anywhere, anytime.

Pumpkin is good, but I am always a sucker for Apple Pie when done right. A good mix of sweet and sour. Golden Delicious apples seem to make the best pies in my experience. We always pick some every fall from a local orchard. But pumpkin pie, cheesecake, and others are right there too.

Personally I love most of these listed, but I had to go with Pumpkin Pie. It is truly a favorite that is always served at my family's table on Thanksgiving. Though another that is not listed is my Grandma's homemade coconut cream pie which can only be described as heavenly.

Pumpkin pie; fresh but refrigerator cool, with a dollop of Cool Whip on top. It just doesn't get any better than that.

I like pumpkin ok but nothing beats a slice of apple pie warmed up with a big glass of icy cold milk. MMMM good.

Pumpkin pie is amazing, but I had to choose pumpkin roll cake. To me, that is truly a once year dessert that only happens on Thanksgiving.

I love Pumpkin Pie. But, I really like Apple Pie as well. My apple Pie, warm with a slice of cheddar on top or warm served ala mode with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.

Any other time of the year I would agree with apple pie...but Thanksgiving is sacred. Pumpkin Pie rules the roost.

Definatley Pumpkin Pie, with Cool Whip on top. In fact, anything Pumpkin flavored is absoultely delicious: Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Cheesecake, Pumpkin Cream Cheese, Pumpkin Ravioli, Pumpkin Soup, Pumpkin Bread, Pumpkin Coffee...mmmmm

There's a restaurant in downtown L.A. called "Zucca" (appropriately enough) that makes a fabulous pumpkin ravioli. It's run by the same group (Patina) that runs several restaurants in Anaheim's Downtown Disney.

Cool Whip, though? Eww. Say no to trans fat. Real whipped cream is soooo easy to make and so much tastier.

Although my favorite is blackberry cobbler there is a gourmet apple pie at Publix that they sell during this time of year that has pecans and cranberries in it - it is really good!
