Kings Island to close Waterworks
Kings Island: Kings Island will release details around Labor Day, but in its statement, it gives us a hint that the new attraction will be very similar to Waterworks.
PKI's website has released some news about next year's new attraction. The plans include the closing of Waterworks, PKI's waterpark. Kings Island will release details around Labor Day, but in its statement, it gives us a hint that the new attraction will be very similar to Waterworks. There is some speculation that it won't actually be closed, but will get a heavy-duty theming facelift. PKI describes the new area as "exotic." Given their recent efforts to give the park more theming, and their tendency to revamp attractions, this theory makes a whole lot of sense. What do you think?

I think that they are just going to make the water park alot better. I just hope that they keep the wave pool.
I never use thw water park and probaly whouldn't even if it got the best theming in the world SO when I haerd that it was closing from Coaster Buzz about a week ago I was hoping for a new coaster (or even a new themed area- the water park is 30 acres) but all I have haerd is they are going to give it a Australian theme and the official park website said something like "if you liked waterworks you are going to love our surrprise" so I am convinced that it is just a new water park to compete with the new CP water park and the great HW waterpark so I wanted a new coaster (last one built in 2000) but hopefully the new park will draw some croawds from the lines.
I hated Water Works, I can't understand why anyone would go there when the Beach is just up the street.

I have two small children 6 and 3 and they love King Island and water. It seems like the only thing that we can do at the water park is the lazy river thing or the wave pool, which is scarry for small kids. Well it is scarry for me to let them in it. I can't stand that they won't let floataion devices in the park! Those stupid life jacket give the kids a horrable wedgee! I just hope that whatever they do it is more exciting and is suited for families and a few thrill rides! I haven't heard anything except that it will close. I agree that it probably will just get a face lift! Same boring crap! Oh and all of those people that think they have a body that looks good in a bikini! GAG!
