Cedar Fair CEO to Retire in 2007

Cedar Point: Dick Kinzel, 63, is credited with taking Cedar Point into coaster supremacy and turning the seasonal resort into one of the most successful park operations in the industry.

Virtual Midway reports that Dick Kinzel, the CEO of Cedar Fair, will retire at the end of the 2007 season. Kinzel, 63, is credited with taking Cedar Point into coaster supremacy and turning the seasonal resort into one of the most successful park operations in the industry. He also made the Cedar Fair company a profit-making powerhouse through the 1990's. The question is, when the time comes, will the new CEO carry on the legacy that he will leave behind?

We will greatly miss him. However, you should try to keep your information up-to-date, as there is no longer a website called Virtual Midway. It merged with Guide To The Point, to create Point Buzz.

This story was written on August 20, 2003, when Virtual Midway was still in existance. It is now Pointbuzz.

To add to the story, fans and locals are talking something big in 2007 for his "goodbye gift" What that will be should be interesting. Of course, people also like to start these kind of rumors based on nothing, so I guess we will have to wait and see.
