SeaWorld Orlando is now Orlando's most expensive attraction.

An adult ticket is up two dollars to $53.95 -- $44.95 for a child's ticket. Orlando's major theme parks usually increase their prices at about the same time each year. No word yet if Disney or Universal will increase their ticket prices.

SeaWorld just added five acres of waterfront dining and shopping and is planning more additions.

It would be worth it if they added a rapids ride for the summer. Other thatn that prices should remain the same.

I already covered this in the Crappy New Year Flume. So why was this even added, Robert? Hmm????

The Fun Pass is just a couple bucks more than a single day ticket, so focussing on the single day price is not giving the whole story, plus running a zoo attraction is one of the most expensive undertakings there is. Added to the fact that along with the animal attractions it is one of the most well maintained parks around makes the price of admission a bargain in my book. I wish people on this site would find something better to do than always pick out the negative aspects of the attractions. If it's so bad don't go! Just quit complaining about it. It's not even good journalism.

Interesting to note that here in SoCal...

Universal Studios Hollywood is $49 (But it is buy a day, get a year free again)

SeaWorld San Diego is now $47.95 (The Fun Card is $5 more this year ($52.95), but only 3 blackout days in 2004).

Disneyland is still $47 (as of today, presume it will be going up shortly)

Knott's is $43 for adults, but they just dropped thre full price kids admission to just $12.95 (USH is $39, SeaWorld is $38.95 and DL is $37)

Here is the Knott's Press Release...

>>BUENA PARK, Calif.--Jan. 5, 2004--Knott's Berry Farm announced the roll back of its regular price of admission for children ages 3-11 to an incredible $12.95. The new low price coincides with the kick off of a promising New Year at America's first theme park that will include the opening of three new rides. Previously $33, the new price of $12.95 is the lowest posted gate price for kids since 1992 and continues to be the lowest children's price at any Southern California theme park.
Plans for 2004 at Knott's Berry Farm include the addition of Lucy's Tugboat attraction in Camp Snoopy this spring. Also, the high-flying RipTide is scheduled to make waves on the Boardwalk in time for Spring Break delighting thrill seekers with "720 degrees of attitude." In addition to these new rides, Knott's biggest plans remain wrapped up in a $16 million Christmas present to thrillseekers everywhere. The Silver Bullet is slated to open Christmas Eve 2004. The inverted steel roller coaster will send riders climbing to a height of 146 feet and soaring back down an initial drop of 109 feet. Riders will spiral, corkscrew, fly into a cobra roll, and experience over-banked curves. Overall, riders will find themselves upside down six times including one vertical loop of 105 feet all while suspended below the coaster track traveling over four of Knott's themed areas.

Adult admission prices remain at $43, but adults can also receive the new low price of $12.95 for a limited time from Jan. 5 through Feb. 1, 2004, when they bring a canned food item to the park to benefit the Orange County Food Bank. Food donations will help meet the hunger needs of Southern California's neediest children and families.

Knott's Berry Farm is owned and operated by Cedar Fair, L.P., a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "FUN." In addition to Knott's Berry Farm, Cedar Fair owns and operates five other amusement parks and five water parks, and operates a seventh amusement park under a management contract. Knott's is open everyday except Christmas. Visit the company online at www.knotts.com for more park information. <<
