On December 26 2003 my dad my sister my step mom my step sister and myself went for a 6 day trip to southern california to my uncle's house in Castaic. At 9 in the morning we started the long 7 hour drive from vacaville to my uncle's house. I had talked to my sister about visiting the park while we were down there and she said that we probebly would'int go.so the next day I was talking to my aunt and uncle about what we were going to do. I said every body knows what I want to do. I expected every one to know because I am a coaster freak. My dad said what do you want to do? My anser was obveus. Magic mountain I said. every body agreed so we set the date for monday the 29.

when monday came I was more than ready. my uncle drove us to the front gate. when I mean us I mean me my two cousens and my sister. parking had gone up sence i was there last. it is now 8.00 bucks. fortunatly for my uncle they have a drop off area. my two cousens had season passes so they already had there tickets. Magic moutain has this discount if you live in southern california you get in for half price. so I gave my uncle my money and waited 10 min for the park to open. once inside we ran for x. we waited not long for x only an hour and a half. some time x's lines get to be 5 hours long. I sugest you hit x when it first opens. next we walked to psyclone we saw the line and I said what why is the line so long psyclone is not a popular ride? it turns out that it was a crowded day.

so we walked over to riddelers revenge. we waited two hours in line for that coaster. they were only running one train. next we got lunch. my uncle was parked in the drop off area and we ate jack in the box. the reason we didint buy lunch in the park is because it is so expensive. next we went over to colossus. and suprisingly they were running two trains. after a hour wait we went to batman. yet agin another coaster with one train. I have to say batman in the dark is awsome. after another two hour wait it was 7. so we got in line for goliath a half hour later I said do you guys want to bail? just by saying that goes agenst every thing I belive in because i am a coaster freak. so we went to revelution and walked on. after rideing six or seven times we decided to go on viper. we almost did'int get on because the train we were in was the last run of the day. sometimes you can get a nice ride operator and ride a second time but we had a by the book operator. in the end it was a disapointing day. oh well at least I got to go on x. the rides I wanted to go on but were closed are ninja, superman, dejavu, and scream.

my advise is if you want to go to magic mountain. dont go in december. becouse I talked to my cousens and they said it's not like this in october, november,or january. wow I picked a wrong time to visit.

Well how about a few sentences per ride on how it was, not how long the wait was! Nobody really cares about the prices and lines and how dissapointing it was, how about the RIDES?

Erm sounds cool, perhaps you can enlighten us on how the rides were!?!!?

How about buying a dictionary and brushing up on your spelling. See kids, you may not think so, but an education is important.

Please don't label all kids as having crap spelling and grammar. There are plenty kids who write a lot better than most supposed adults on here.

We got how long the wait was, how the coaster was, and which coasters were not in operation. I suppose nobody in MM cares how many trains each coaster operates.

Doesn't everyone dislike this low-supply, high-demand issue??

I never been to MM before, but I keep hearing this hype about snail-paced loading of the coasters. Not good.

my advice to any one wanting to go to MM is that you go in the summer. I know this sounds weird but for some strange reason the lines seem to move faster in the summer.

super man And ninja always draw lines but not big
The way they have for superman is when you get inside building the station is right there. right when you enter the building there are the air gates(or doors) then you choose your line for the row you want P.S
dont ride it in front

Let me tell ya, Last sunday X (after 3pm) had only a 30 minute wait, the ride operators were doing an excellent job of keeping everything at a fast pace. Yes it did have one breakdown but only for 5 minutes. So, Magic mountain is better than what people think. Sorry, but going one time will not make you an expert about magic mountain. Go there 10 times in your life, than you shall be considered an expert.

by the way the coasters weren't closed they just had long lines, but magic mountain decides to keep the park open all year long, and work on the rides as if they weren't open all year long. Keeping 1 train running

no I am not an expert. but my cousens who live 5 min away and have been going there all their lives and my aunt who grew up going to magic mountain are. and those rides were closed it said so on the board at the main gate. it was ninja, superman, scream and dejavu, and flashback among others like skytower. I love mgic mountain butit just needs work as with all sixflags parks. securaty was better then the last time I had visited. but still they should close it in the off season or part of the offseason. like close it after halloween untill febuary or something like that so they have time to rehab all the rides like SFMW does.

I agree with closing during off-season dude. As of now were only open weekends during the off-season, still 5 days being closed is enough for rehabs. SFMM will be out of the budget if they close duirng off season. THAT'S SFMM MAIN PROBLEM, BEING OPEN WEEKENDS DURING OFF-SEASON

Mr D.T. You sai you never been to Magic Mountain before..right? Well, let me give you some advice, as you visit any theme park, don't set any expectations (even on CP). Second, you cannot tell how a theme park is runned by just hearing from others. You need to go there quite a few times (each at different times of the year) inorder to get a sense of how the park is being runned. Because you never know what these people are saying is the truth or not. You get a better analysis from an employee, yet they got to be there 1 year and have experience in some of the departments of the park. Then they'll be considered park "experts."

Look at it from Joe's P.O.V. He has relatives that have been going there all the time. Therefore they've seen the changes made, and the new additions of the park. They've seen policy changes..etc. They know the park by-the-book (almost)

all in all, Don't let others make up your own opinion. You make up your opinion by gaining the experience of your own

this "snail-paced" loading of coasters is not the employees problem, especially on dejavu. Guest take so much time putting their itmes to the side, we have nothing do with it, neither does the company or anyone else...the blame goes to the guest. Only thing the employees do is pull on the lap bars/harnesses, and they got to do the after eveyone is seated. Another policy which is no outside food, that's due to budget. If we let people bring in their coolers and stuff, we lose out on the money and your ticket prices will soar beyond $50. Yes Universal and Disneyland lets in food, but look at their prices (both are $50 while SFMM is $46) yet expect Universal and Disney prices to go up, because they can't make up the money any other way. Like I said they lose out on the money, therefore they raise the ticket prices, trying to make up all the lost money.

Lots of people on this website are horrible coaster/theme park critics.Six Flags Magic Mountain has good customer service, its just some of the customers who don't make any sense sometimes. It's like they catch a disease or something that erases their mind as they drive up the hill to SFMM. And yes some of our employees do get tired, you know try working 8+ hours a day in 105 degree heat. Easier said than done. I know it doesn't get any hotter than that at any other theme park.

what do you expect out of Six Flags Magic Mountain? Time to start respecting the excellent safety record we have.

Answer this question; would you rather ride a coasters that is faliing apart into pieces and risking your life, or would rather have it closed for awhile because they're fixing it? And yes all coasters at all parks will wear out. This happened at Universal studios, we waited for 4 hours to ride JP river adventure, they were working on it for 3 hours, and when we went on it, it broke again.

I've been to Magic Mountain a few times and the last time was in 2001. I had no problems with the park. I'm sure there are people who live near there or go to the park every year that disagree. Let me ask this: why do they continue to go to the park if they dont like it and think it is the worst big park around? Remember, not every park can be like the Disney parks or Cedar Point. I'm still going to Magic Mountain at the end of July and I'm sure I will have no problems. Maybe the lines will be long but that wont bother me.
