Thorpe Park Trip ReportThorpe Park: Last year he went to Thorpe Park and had the worst day of his life.
From daniel sears
i always go to thorpe park. last year i went to thorpe park and i had the worst day of my life.Posted March 22, 2004 at 2:27 PM we started at the entrance. the prices were apauling but we didon't let that spoil hour day lost city i love the lost city part of the park. i've been on it all. sum of the rides (eclipse and x no way out) don't really cata for the blind. also x was closed quit a lot due to tekinal problams with the ride apart from that the lost city is grate ranger county this part of the park is much smaller. it's rides are fungle safary the banana ride and the carasel i only went on the banana boat. the safary was closed(some one had fallen out a car) and the carasel i didon't fancy. i think that ranger county needs investment. atlantis well what can i say. it's a dome and you have got to walk threw it to reach the park. amity cove this land only has one ride tidal wave. it's a grate ride with news reports playing in the exit. once on the boat be prepared to get soaked it's a grate ride and i hope to ride it this year clipso que this area is grate. it's got the flying fish rapids pirates 4d (now the haunted lighthouse) teacups inferno model world and sunken garden. it's a good mix how ever there are 3 problems i came across 1. most of the time the features on pirates 4d are broken 2 there are to many steps on the rapids (i'm blind) 3 teacup twisters (now storm in a teacup) sum times anoy people with stupid anouncements apart from that it's grate p.s sleepy joes rib shack is not there in 2004. there building a pizza hut canada creek this is a grate area. it's got logers leap and rocky exspress. logers is grate. board at the station while you hear country music (it doseon't stop by that i mean the ride) leave climb the hill get wet simple rocky exspress is a kidy's ride really but i still went on it i didon't go the other area's becaus i'm 17 and there bee nothing for me in those areas all i have left to say injoy thorpe park

I hate for this to be my first post but I just couldnt help but point out the horrible grammar and spelling contained within this report. Posted March 22, 2004 at 10:31 PM

I think the fact the writer is blind can account for the grammer.Posted March 23, 2004 at 9:17 AM I also think a further meantion of the sounds and smells would have been a cool way for the reader to (un)enjoy the critic's review. Tho, why he chose Haunted Lighthouse in 4-D when he could only enjoy two of the four 'D's is a little beyond me. But, I guess it would have been the same crappy movie had I kept my eyes closed.

I dont think I've ever seen such an ignorant and unnecessary post as John Wallace's. Daniel took the time to write a trip report, and all you can comment on is the spelling and grammar. Its irrelevant whether he is blind or not, you've never even submitted a comment, let alone a whole thread, and you feel it is your right, no, duty to complain about something as stupid as the words he has used. A diverse set opinions is what makes TPI, but a disgraceful lack of courtesy is what would destroy it.Posted March 23, 2004 at 9:47 AM Oh, and how about you learn how to use an apostrophe before you go bitching about other people? Daniel, I'm pleased to see that you went on Rocky Express. Personally, I love it. How helpful were staff? I've heard only good things about Tussauds' disability program, but it would be good to hear the thoughts first hand. Welcome to the site. We're not all as ignorant and unhelpful as John!
From Jeff Arons
John, on some braille keyboards, there is no option for a capital letter, as I have been with a blind person who's keyboard had no captial letters option. That explains the bad grammar.Posted March 23, 2004 at 10:02 AM

well i hope you all are not as ignorant as john.Posted March 23, 2004 at 1:01 PM he really upset me when i read that post. by the way the staff at the park are very helpfull you know what if john goes on about gramar i won't post any more

Great report Daniel. Keep on riding and keep on reporting. The next time I'm in the UK I have to check the park out. Does management restrict you from any of the rides, or can you go on eveything?Posted March 24, 2004 at 11:58 AM

yes you can go on what ever how ever you need a special ticket for colosusPosted March 24, 2004 at 12:44 PM

There is no point going to Thorpe Park this season, maybe when they finish building that Rocket Coaster in 2006 or 07. Try your luck at Chessington (I know) or maybe just buy yourself a Ryanair/Easyjet ticket to Madrid for Warner Bros. Movieworld or Strasbourg for Europa Park. Otherwise, really guys, don't visit a park, where there new attraction is 'the old one from Chessington, re-named and re-themed', talk about Tussauds cost-cutting. Don't reward a park with money, when they just re-theme/or re-name an old ride.Posted March 25, 2004 at 9:43 AM

Good advice.Posted March 25, 2004 at 11:11 AM Samurai hasn't even been renamed or rethemed. An extra splodge of paint on the main arms is all that's changed. Dragon's Fury might be ccol, though.

Hi, yer this park is getting better and wont b long till its as good as alton towers but they still need to work on thier theming when the park grows and what the hell is going on in lost city, its a good land with lots of good rides but its got way too big now with 8 rides! they should split it up into 2 seperate lands and knock down X no way out cos thats just sh*t to make room for a new coaster or something.Posted March 16, 2005 at 6:10 AM
