From Jason Lester

2 scare zones? Awesome! Thanks for the news.

I hope that the expanding one has something do with the Swamp.

From Nicolas Schmelter
Posted August 13, 2005 at 10:36 AM
but, you also have to remember they are taking one out, you will miss it I will miss it, but what they are putting in is VERY awesome

From Jason Lester

As long as they don't take out Ghost Town. If one scare zone went, I'd have to say I'd rather see CarnEvil go. It's nothing against the talent. It's just so bright and there aren't many places to hide for monsters.

I heard a rumor about Gauntlet leaving, so I'm leaning towards that one.

I never went to Knott's Haloween Haunt, I heard its really scary and freaky, but not as USF/IOA's HHN, is that true?

From Nicolas Schmelter
Posted August 25, 2005 at 1:56 AM
Knott's Scary Farm is MUCH scarier then USHHN etc. come over and check it out for your self hehehehe. The mazes are original the best knott's designers work on the mazes.. Haunt is the best, Hands Down

From Jason Lester

Must agree. Haunt beats out every other Halloween related event I've ever atteneded. And yes, it's pretty intense, but most people can handle it. I have seen some pretty freaked out people at Haunt though.

NO!!!!! They can't take the Swamp away. Curses! And Malice is gone. Say it isn't so!

What's Cavern of Lost Souls? And when are we getting maze descriptions?

From Josh Rezvani
Posted August 25, 2005 at 6:00 PM
What is soo scary about it?

What are the mazes??

What the the actors do????

From Jason Lester
Posted August 25, 2005 at 6:24 PM
It's more about being shocked then being scared. Nothing's really scary, but walking around in a dark room and then having some guy jump at you can be pretty startling. Also, there's not really a safe zone to get away from monsters.

The actors basically wear costumes and try to scare the hell out of you. Knott's recently released this year's mazes, but unforunately there's no descriptions. Go to knotts.com for the event info.

What's so scary about it Josh? you can't even walk through the turn stiles without being scared by a monster. You can't step 5 feet into a maze without a monster jumping out at you so you pee your pants. You can't go anywhere with out the chills up your spine knowing that every creature in the dark is watching you.

The mazes are:

The Asylum
Cavern of Lost Souls
Feary Tales
Redmoon Massacre
Curse of the Spider
Lore of the Vampire
Red Beard's Revenge
Carnival of Carnivorous Clowns
Terror Vision
13 Murder Manor
Hatchet High

What do the monsters do: They slide
they chase
they snarl
they scream
they play jokes
they come face to face with you
and most of all...
they SCARE

From Nicolas Schmelter
Posted August 25, 2005 at 9:04 PM
Also I have seen people, pee, throw up, curl up like a ball in a corner, jump, freak out, hit monsters because they are scared, run etc.

From Nicolas Schmelter
Posted August 25, 2005 at 9:05 PM
^ that's all from being scared

We decided to give it one more year and see if it's better this year. We are going to go earlier this year, instead of going so close the Halloween. We have been going for 16 years and it seems to have slid a little in the last few years. looking forward to the new mazes!

Josh, dude, all the info you could ever need regarding Haunt is in knotts.com, which is the official site. Once you get there, scroll to Special Events on the navigation bar and click on Halloween Haunt.

It's worth every penny. Also, Nicholas can you please tell something about the new mazes? Or at least when some descriptions will be released?

I'm a bit angry frankly. Last year we got the mazes and descriptions at the same time. This year we only get show and scare zone descriptions. What's going on here man?

Also, Josh, another good Haunt site is themeparkadventure.com They have everything you want to know about Haunt.

From Nicolas Schmelter
Posted August 26, 2005 at 8:51 AM
The Knotts.com site is not complete yet. You also have to remember that we still have a month left and maze descriptions can come at any time. So there is still time for the mazes description and picture logos to be put up.

From Jason Lester
Posted August 26, 2005 at 1:35 PM
Yeah, I just found it a biot strange considering that last year it was all released at the same time. So are the descriptions going to be a mid-September thing?

From Nicolas Schmelter
Posted August 26, 2005 at 6:14 PM
Honestly I don't know. It could be later today, tomorrow or maybe the last day before haunt starts... Just wait and see what happens

From Jason Lester
Posted August 26, 2005 at 7:03 PM
Okay dude. Thanks for the info you could give.

Nicholas, where at Haunt do you work? As a monster, manager, blackout, etc.?

Let's talk about the mazes and scare zones. What was your for Haunt 2004 (Scare Zone and Maze)? Did any of you guys catch the Hanging and how did you like it?

From Jason Lester
Posted August 28, 2005 at 12:05 PM
Favorite maze was Asylum, which continues to blow my mind. But I really don't have a least favorite. Maybe Army of the Underworld, which was replaced. I know how hard some of those guys work in there, but Knott's just didn't cut them any slack.

Favorite scarezone was and will always be Ghost Town. The classic scarezone, it gets your blood pumping the minute you enter. But I give props to the Swamp. With the room they had, those scareactors really rocked making the best of a bad situation. So Ghost Town and Swamp (RIP).

The Hanging was okay, but I like the one in 2003 better. The Hanging is a pretty funny show though and I look forward to this year's. I'm kind of bummed to see Ed Alonzo gone, I loved that guy. Hopefully next year he'll be back. Nick, do you know why he's not at Haunt this year?

From Nicolas Schmelter
Posted August 28, 2005 at 10:46 PM
Ed Alonzo IS here this year. Dr. Cleaver will not be returning. Ed Alonzo has the big boy stage this year :)

From Jason Lester
Posted August 29, 2005 at 1:58 PM
Yeah, I realized I mixed up the names. I meant I was sad to see Cleaver go. Psycho Circus was cool and he rocked in the Birdcage. Ed Alonzo is funny, but I like Cleaver more.

From Nicolas Schmelter
Posted August 29, 2005 at 3:31 PM
haha, Did you see him in Birdcage theatre or the Charles M. Schulzes theatre?

From Jason Lester
Posted August 29, 2005 at 6:05 PM
I saw him in the Birdcage, at least I think I did. That's the small one in Ghost Town right? The one with the period looking lobby?

From Josh Rezvani
Posted August 29, 2005 at 7:19 PM
One Question, when you guys went to the mazes, can you skip it and go to the rides in Knotts Berry Farm? Well, you see, I'm scared of people popping out and such and I really don't like that, is their other attractions in Knotts Halloween Haunt?

From Cameron Rust
Posted August 29, 2005 at 7:20 PM
There probably are, but if you just like rides, you'de probably be better off to go to the park during the day or on a non-haunt day when the park is open later. The admission price is alot more expensive during haunt.

From Jason Lester
Posted August 29, 2005 at 11:35 PM
I wouldn't recommend Haunt if you don't like things jumping out at you. That's what Haunt is all about and there's no safe zones in that park.

From Nicolas Schmelter
Posted August 30, 2005 at 12:18 AM
go to the rides during the day 10am closes at 5pm for preperation of haunt. Even though the park may sound like it is closed early you will get to ride each ride more then 3 times

From Jason Lester
Posted August 30, 2005 at 10:38 AM
But do remember that if you don't like scares stay far away from Haunt. There's really no way of comparing it to Van Helsing, which is completely different and much less scary.

Think that times 10 and you don't even scratch the surface of Haunt.

And so ends this topic. So long for now Haunt fans.
