Knott's wins our vote!!

Knott's Berry Farm: Knotts has the best rides out of the theme parks we went to in Southern California.

Our daughters are 10, 9, and 7 years old and in 12 days had experienced Disney, Universal, Seaworld, SanDiego zoo and wild animal park. With our last day we gave them the choice of where to return and Knott's won hands down. They loved the rides and went on Ghostrider more times then I could count! They decided that they want a Knott's to move to our town in Canada so that they could go all the time! Crowds were small and line-ups almost unseen on the Monday we went. The previous Saturday was crowded but still the line-ups were handled well and didn't seem to get jammed up at any one ride. Disney should learn a little from Knott's!! The side shows need some work, but in their context I guess they were fine. Riptide was not voted on as my 9 year old was told she couldn't ride because of her age, though she is 30 pounds heavier and taller than her 10 year old sister...didn't make sense to us but she wouldn't lie about her age(good kid!!) and so neither girl tried that ride. Perilous plunge is a very wet ride and we did not understand how wet until afterwards...it was if I had jumped into a swimming pool fully dressed...it was a time we really should have taken the warning about getting wet a little more seriously!! Neat ride though!

Glad you enjoyed yourselves. I've always said Knott's blows the other SoCal parks out of the water.

I love Knotts Berry Farm too. I'm in my 30's and I don't have kids. I have been to the parks in CA several times and I think my fondest memories are of Knotts as well. I think it's one of the most underrated parks out there. While I am not sure I prefer it to Disneyland, I do prefer it to most parks. The rides are great. It has nice theming. Personally, I prefer it to alot of parks that I consider to be overrated like BGW, but I don't really want to start that debate again.

I've never visited Knott's but now with Silver Bullet, Ghostrider and Montezuma's Revenge it seems like it is a great park. I would like to get out there to experience it sometime in the near future. Glad you guys had such a good time.

While i agree that Knotts is a good park with some very good rides, DL beats it out easily.
While Knotts has some excellant coasters, it cant compete when compared to classics like Indiana JONES/POTC/HM/Space-Splash Mountain/Matterhorn/Buzz etc, and then when you add in shows/fireworks and all around theming/atmosphere it cant be beat IMHO.

While it's true DL can't be beat, Knott's has it's own appeal. DL feels like a huge and sometimes overwhelming collection of rides, Knott's is like a local county fair. Even though you can do everything in a day, it's just a more simple and much much less busy place.

I have never been to Knotts but my dad has from wat i heard its a nice park. With plenty of thrill rides. Personally I have never been a big fan of Disney I much more perfer Busch Gardens or Universal. I find Disney a Bit Cheesy.

i had not been to knott's for years, when i finally returned, i was very impressed. i have not had a chance to ride that new roller coaster. it looks like fun, but i do not do well in spinning rides.
