Hi, Im panning to visit NYC for my Brithday in August. I am crazy about theme parks and frequently visit Thope Park and Alton Towers here in the UK. Our rides lack any comparison of the US.

I would love to ride Kingda Ka. Is it easy for a tourist visiting New York City to reach this Theme Park with out hiring a car?

Thanks,
Rob from London, England

I can't say from personal experience, never having visited this park, but according to the Six Flags website, they run a bus shuttle service to NYC from Great Adventure. Here are the numbers listed to find out detailed information:

call 800-772-2222 in New Jersey, outside of New Jersey call 800-626-7433 or 800-772-2287 (TAT).

Hope this helps.

Correction, it's not a park service, it's the NJ Transit authority that runs the buses. Below is the complete paragraph on the issue of mass transit from the park's website. If you can't dial the 800 numbers from the UK, you could probably get a toll number from a website for NJ transit or some other travel source. Again, I don't know how "easy" you'd consider this -- it probably would be easier to rent a car -- but at least it's apparently possible. Be sure to check operating schedules for the park and the bus sytem from as many sources as you can, and good luck!

Mass Transit:
NJ TRANSIT offers bus service to the park from New York City, Newark, Camden and Philadelphia, PA. Local bus service is also available on the #307, 308 309, and 318 bus lines from Trenton, Freehold, Toms River, New Egypt, Plumstead Twp., Lakewood, and Asbury Park, NJ. For a current operating schedule, call 800-772-2222 in New Jersey, outside of New Jersey call 800-626-7433 or 800-772-2287 (TAT)

The NJ Transit bus is actually a really good option now that gas prices are so high here. You end spending about $50 including admission pp and there is no driving stress involved, definitely a good deal.
Have a great time @ 6 Flags, I'd suggest you ride Kindga Ka first as the line only gets longer throughout the day!

i live in the area. (10 min from nyc) i suggest u rent a car. it is easy to take the wrong train or bus. as you might have to make some transfers. also remember nj transit stops service at a certain time. other towns earlier then others obviously. if you do rent a car fill it up before you get on the turnpike as it may be up to 30 cents more. either way have a good time.
